Cristina McNeil for Congress

It all started when…

Cristina McNeil grew up in a family of 10 in Mexico City. Her interest in politics was established listening to her Uncle, Pedro Vazquez Colmenares, Governor of the State of Oaxaca, Mexico, discuss important issues around the family dinner table. Cristina immigrated to the United States in 1995 and is a proud citizen of both the United States and Mexico.

Successful Business Owner

Cristina McNeil, a business owner in San Diego for 5 years prior to moving to Boise in 2003. She earned an MBA and studied to become a Realtor. In her first year, Cristina earned membership in the Real Estate Circle of Excellence and was a top producer for 4 years. Building on her success, Cristina opened her own Brokerage firm. She is currently a real estate agent.

Family

Cristina McNeil is a single mom. In 2008, when the housing market and economy collapsed, Cristina struggled to make ends meet. Fighting for her family, she gave up her no longer affordable house and rebuilt her family’s life in the new economy. Her daughter, Sophia, attends Boise State University.

Passion to Help Others

Cristina McNeil understands the importance of a strong, fair economy and fighting for families. She joined ICAN (Idaho Community Action Network) in 2006, where she used the power of advocacy to help others and rose to the office of Vice President of ICAN. She expanded her volunteer work, joining the Alliance for Justice, Main Street Alliance, and the Coalition for Immigrant Rights of Idaho organizations. Cristina became a National advocate. She also produced "Walking In Someone Else's Shoes" for KTVB television station.

Political Office

Cristina McNeil understands meaningful change comes through political action. In 2014, Cristina was appointed Chair of the Idaho Democratic Party Latino Caucus. In 2016 Cristina McNeil was recognized for her volunteer advocacy work and honored to meet former President Barack Obama.

Cristina McNeil’s core values of honesty, fairness, dependability, respect, commitment to building and protecting strong communities, are the necessary tools for success - always helping those who are less fortunate and raising up their voices.
